Using Technology to Make Your Care More Precise

Digital Radiographs

The next generation Intraoral X-ray system

The Gendex expert DC combines the legacy of dependability with the latest advances in electronic technology. This new direct current powerhouse delivers strong benefits like shorter exposures, reduced radiation, and truly consistent image quality. Its industry-leading focal spot of 0.4 mm creates significantly sharper images than other intraorals, regardless if you operate with digital sensors, PSP, or film. Leading technology and daily dependability - the legendary Gendex reputation continues with the expert DC.

Panoramic X-ray

Advanced Imaging Techniques for a More Complete Picture

The panoramic x-ray shows the dentist a patient's nasal area, sinuses, jaw joints, teeth and surrounding bone. It can reveal cysts, tumors, bone irregularities, and much more. The panoramic x-ray usually shows both jaw joints and an unusual flattening in the joint can mean that this patient has a TMJ problem. The lower jaw, called the mandible, can also have an indentation on its lower boarder when a patient's beaver muscle ( masseter ) has been clenching and grinding. The panoramic x-ray shows the entire mandible, including all of its lower boarder. A full mouth series of smaller x-rays would not show this indentation.

Many dentists do not look at the nasal and sinus areas but the panoramic x-ray shows most of the maxillary sinuses and the nasal opening. Panoramic x-ray examination of the maxillary sinuses can show polyps in the sinus, abnormal liquids in the sinus, and can show when the roots of the upper teeth stick into the sinus cavity. This is very important because some toothaches are caused by sinus problems and nothing should be done to the teeth. In this case, the panoramic x-ray can help avoid unnecessary dental treatment.

Computerized Treatment Rooms

Virtual Animations Based On Your Dental Records

An interactive patient education program called GURU further helps to explain procedures and create customized treatment plans based on the patients individual dental records.

Digital Oral Photography

Detailed Images Like Never Before

You can benefit from a digital photographic examination where you will see your teeth like you have never seen them before. When performing restorative and cosmetic dentistry, there is no better way to communicate to the laboratory the desired results than with digital photography.

Cerec Technology

The Latest in Sophisticated Tooth Restoration

There are many ways to restore teeth. Often, if the problem is relatively small, a tooth colored restoration is used to restore the tooth with a white filling which is bonded directly to the enamel. However, when a larger portion of the tooth is involved, an inlay, onlay, partial crown, or full crown may be indicated. These are all restorations that are fabricated outside of the mouth and then glued or bonded to the tooth.

CEREC, an acronym for ceramic reconstruction, is a very sophisticated computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) system.

How Does CEREC Work?

First, the Doctor prepares the damaged tooth by painting a thin layer of reflective powder directly on the tooth's surface. Using a special camera, he then takes a picture of the tooth. Computer aided design technology helps the doctor design the restoration from the optical impression. Then computer aided manufacturing mills the restoration from a ceramic block that matches the patient's tooth color. The milling process takes about 15 minutes. Finally, the Doctor bonds the newly milled restoration to the tooth using an adhesive.

What Kinds of Procedures Can It Perform?

  • Partial and full crowns
  • Veneers
  • All other single-tooth restorations

What are the Advantages Cerec Offers?

  • One visit restoration
  • No impressions
  • No temporaries
  • Extremely precise due to the advanced computer technology
  • Allows dentist to save more of the healthy tooth
  • The restoration is natural looking, as it is made out of tooth-colored ceramic
  • More durable than traditional lab-processed ceramics
  • Metal and Mercury free
  • Ceramic material is biocompatible, high-grade, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant
  • Bonds to enamel so well, the bond is stronger than the tooth itself
  • No return visits for the patient
